The multiplayer-only DLC drags the warfare sim into the real world during Napoleon's conquest of Europe, with over 220 unique units including engineers, artillery and musicians.

But I must say that I like With Fire and Sword a whole lot more than Warband! I mean Jannisaries, musketeers, pikemen and winged hussars are just so cool! It's a history buffs wet dream and it feels a lot more like playing a TW game in first person because of the semi historical setting. The Mount & Blade gang at Taleworlds are elevating another mod, this time turning fan-made mod Mount & Musket: Battalion into the paid expansion 'Napoleonic Wars' for M&B Warband. The sad thing about this game is that it isn't as well coded as Warband which if you are unlucky might make the game almost unplayable. I guess the big new thing in With Fire and Sword is that now you have guns, instead of just bows and crossbows.

The nations represented are Sweden, Poland, Cossack's, Crimean Hetmanate and Muscovite Tsardom (Russia). With Fire and Sword has a more or less historical setting starting in the mid-1600's in Eastern Europe. Warband is set in an early medieval period. Warband is a more polished game with less bugs, in a fictional setting with fictional nations and map. Though, M&B games are all sandbox games, which means you can practically do what peaks your interest. I think the end game is that you become king of a nation and destroy the other nations. As the game progresses you can start building a town, which in time if you build on it will be come a huge fort (I'm not that far along). You start out as a single adventurer and in time you can build yourself an army and make alliances with different nations. It's probably as close as you can get to playing Total War as a single soldier. The mount and blade games are first person and third person games.

Warband came out in 2010 while With Fire and Sword came out in 2011, so yeah they work with Win 7. They look kinda cool, might check one out. I'm just happy my game works.Ĭan someone explain the difference between Warband and Fire & Sword? I understand these games are first person, sort of things.

Though, from what I understand the TaleWorlds forums is full of people complaining about Fire and Sword being nearly unplayable because of all the crashes. Now for some reason I can play without the game crashing at all, haven't had a crash for 120 days (basically the same as turns in TW games). When I started playing I encountered some game breaking bugs and crashes, basically every time entered a siege a ctd would occur. The single player suffers some finesse and that extra finishing touch. Multiplayer on the other hand can be really fun at times but also at times really tedious and angering. At the moment I have a 100-man army of 70 Pikemen, 10 halbediers and 20 musketeers, I'm allied with the Poles and giving the Swedes a really hard time by looting their caravans and burning their villages. I've never really been into Mount & Blade before With fire and sword. I think it's really great! It's basically Mount & Blade in a mid 17th century Eastern European setting. So what was with fire and sword then :P ?
